New product line impressed – many machines sold and new market segments penetrated
The mood at Hyundai was positive as it took stock after Bauma. The stand was very well attended and the new generation of 9-Series machines was very well received by visitors, resulting in numerous machines being sold from the stand.
Despite the initial transport problems caused by volcanic ash, a brisk flows of visitors wasere recorded at the Hyundai stand from the outset. According toIn the view of Marketing Manager Michel de Weert, this was in part due to the favourable stand location – but there were other reasons: “The new 9 series aroused considerable interest and positive feedback.” In addition, with the new 22 t rehandling excavator R210W-9MH, the 30 t R290LC-9LR with ‘Long Reach’ feature and the 50 t demolition excavator R520LC-9 DM, Hyundai has penetrated promising new market segments and will continue to expand these activities.
THowever, the newly developed wheel loaders with ‘Load Sensing’ technology and brand new driver’s cab also aroused a great deal of attention: ”Many customers want to try ithem out immediately and have signed up for the earliest possible demonstrations”, said the Marketing Manager.
The first of the new heavy forklifts with payloads from 10 to 16 t were also sold at the trade show. With these machines, Hyundai is also targeting new customer groups in the steel, natural stone and concrete industries, as well as heavy transport in the port and rail sectors.
All dealers from German-speaking countries and some from neighbouring countries were represented at the stand throughout the trade show. Alain Worp, Hyundai Construction Machinery Sales Manager, points out that all salespeople are fullyoptimally trained and positively enthusiastic about the new 9 series: “We have this enthusiastic optimistic attitude to thank – in addition to the high product quality – for the huge success, and the fact that we were able to sell 30 machines directly from the stand to end customers, particularly in Germany. In addition, the dealers themselves ordered another 100 machines.” All were fully motivated by Bauma, and are now excited about the follow onpost-trade show business opportunities. Of the new machines presented in Europe for the first time, many were delivered to dealers for trial directly after the trade show.
