Hyundai wheel loaders best in handling and quarrying.
Increased thickness of steel and no plastics have led to the Hyundai -7A Series wheel loaders being particularly well accepted in the materials handling and quarrying industries since their introduction at Bauma in 2007.
The Hyundai range of wheel loaders consists of six basic models from 1.8m³ (10t) to 5.1m³ (30t) capacity. All models have an all-steel bodywork with no plastic components such as mudguards or engine hoods. This adds up to tough, robust and durable machines that are perfectly suited for use in applications where they have to withstand daily impacts and nudges. That is why Hyundai wheel loaders have become the preferred choice of customers in recycling and waste handling, screener and crusher operations, as well as loading and unloading ships, barges, trucks and containers. Hyundai wheel loaders are also proven and well accepted in smaller quarries and mines.
Hyundai designed the basic models in such a way that they can be adapted to the various situations they might encounter during their long working life. Selecting one of three boom variations is a key issue in that perspective. There is the basic version with z-bar kinematics on all wheel loaders, an extended (XTD) version for extra high lift and a Tool Master (TM) version with parallel boom available on HL730-7A, HL740-7A and HL757-7A. Thanks to its parallel lifting capabilities the TM version is ideal for use with forks. The XTD has a longer boom and heavier counterweight for a longer reach without impacting on the lifting capacity.
Hyundai -7A Series wheel loaders can be operated with one hand on the steering wheel and the other hand on the control lever. Hyundai dedicated design effort into reducing the need to reach for other levers or switches as much as possible. The control lever itself has been designed to enable switching between forward and reverse at the push of a button and to activate the ‘kick-down’ function, which releases extra power when travelling.
The key element in the dashboard is the graphic display with user-defined menu, which allows for easier use and interpretation. As an option, the image from a reverse camera can also be shown on the display. Comfortable seats, a heated outside mirror and plenty of storage make the Hyundai wheel loader a safe and pleasant piece of equipment to operate.
A well appreciated feature by maintenance workers is the new cooling fan, which can run in both directions. Running clockwise in normal cooling mode, the fan can be switched to run anti-clockwise for maintenance purposes. This draws dirt out of the ventilating slots and cleans the cooler to maintain cooling efficiency. Another efficiency feature is the “light” automatic mode which reduces gear changing times by 20 per cent, reducing fuel consumption and allowing even more effective operation.
Most Hyundai recycling, materials handling and quarrying customers have a central greasing system installed; extra protective skid plates mounted and choose application-specific tires. But machine adaptations go even further than that. To meet the customer’s demands, Dutch Hyundai dealer Van der Spek recently repainted an entire HL730TM-7A with a special anti-corrosive paint, the machine is used for loading and unloading salt and fertilizer from sea freighters. A carbon filter and special low pressure tires were installed to make sure the machine was perfectly suited to the application. That is how Hyundai and its dealers work. They listen to the customer and provide an unequalled value for money solution, a no nonsense approach.
